Wuersch Gering, an international boutique law firm with a predominantly European-based business clientele, is seeking a mid-level litigation associate on a full-time basis.
\n \nWuersch Gering has a diverse litigation practice, with multiple cases in early through advanced stages before arbitrators, mediators and in state and federal courts throughout the country. Litigation associates handle matters from investigation, pre-litigation correspondence, filing and through appeal, routinely preparing or responding to motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, trial briefs, in limine motions and appeals briefs.
\n \nThe ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of civil litigation experience focusing on corporate/commercial litigation in the New York federal and state courts. The candidate is expected to hold a JD from a U.S. law school and have strong research and excellent writing skills. Discovery experience is essential and must include drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting or participating in discovery conferences and negotiating discovery plans, full familiarity with electronic discovery rules, working with experts, and in preparing document productions and depositions. Experience in conducting and defending depositions and in mediation and/or arbitration is preferred. A strong writing sample, preferably a motion brief on which the candidate is the principal writer, is a must. Foreign language fluency is preferred, but not required.
